2nd Annual Ride the Ridge Bike Tour
The Second Annual Ride the Ridge Bike Challenge benefits the High Meadow Arts Center and the Marbletown First Aid Unit. The Bike Challenge offers three routes, all starting at High Meadow School in Stone Ridge.
Parents and children will enjoy a 5-mile Family Ride from the school from the school to the scenic back roads and residential neighborhoods of Stone Ridge.
Intermediate riders taking the 25-mile Countryside Ride will journey from the historic houses of Stone Ridge along the Wallkill River Valley, enjoying both flats and rolling hills along with some spectacular views of the Shawangunk Ridge and Smiley's Tower on Skytop.
Advanced riders taking on the 50-mile Shawangunk Ridge ride will be challenged by the ascent up the Trapps via Towpath and Upper Granite roads towards Minnewaska State Park. A fast descent on Route 44/55 into Gardiner follows as riders take in views of the fields, pastures, and the Trapps cliffs. Riders will make their way back to Stone Ridge along the Wallkill River.
All rides will be supported by SAG Wagons, directional signs, and strategically located food/water stops. A satisfying lunch and a chance at various prizes will await riders at the Finish Line.
